Davis looking forward to playing despite screws in arm

Despite breaking his right arm in Sunday’s NFC Championship game against the Arizona Cardinals, Carolina Panthers linebacker Thomas Davis says he’s playing in Super Bowl 50. “So we are excited about that possibility”.

Davis had six tackles and two tackles for loss before leaving. “I know I’m gonna do everything in my power to be ready to go”.

“They were kind of picking on me and grabbing my arm and saying, you can’t retaliate now, you can’t do anything”, Davis said, smiling.

Davis’ wife posted an Instagram photo of her husband wearing a hospital shower cap on Monday and thanked well-wishers. His practice repetitions are likely to be limited, but Rivera echoed Thomas’ intention when he said “I’m not doubting Thomas”. The Panthers’ linebacker had surgery on Monday in hopes to be ready for the Super Bowl in two weeks. Davis said Smith was one of the first guys to reach out to him after Davis got hurt.

Davis may have already taken steps to fix his arm. “It was feeling a lot better today than it was yesterday, so I retaliated like, ‘If you want to try me now'”. “Three ACLs. Broken fingers”.

The 32-year-old Davis is in his 10th season – he missed all of the 2010 campaign after the second of his knee injuries – out of Georgia. “It hasn’t stopped him yet”. Safety Roman Harper also left the game with an eye injury.
