Day Of Prayer Rally Planned Thursday

A crowd of about 50 or so dodged the raindrops in Gulfport to attend a National Day of Prayer program in Jones Park.
The National Day of Prayer is celebrated on the first Thursday in May each year. The church will be open from 7 a.m.to 7 p.m. with prayer guides available. He created us all and if we are not in touch with him we are not in touch with what is going on around us.

Pastors and rabbis scheduled to pray at the courthouse include The Rev. Fidel Diaz of Tabernaculo Biblico Bautista, The Rev. Lawrence Livingston of Eternity Temple, The Rev. Nick Manassa of Resonate Life Church, The Rev. Phil Derstine of Christian Retreat, Rabbi Dennis Bacon of Beth Israel Messianic Synagogue and Pierson.
Since 1952, the first Thursday in May is known as National Day of Prayer. “Without them, we can not have the freedom we have in our community”.
Persida Moran, James Bradford and Oliver McMahan will lead in prayers for God to unite His church.

Truman signed a bill proclaiming a National Day of Prayer must be declared by each following president at an appropriate date of his choice. Still more prayers were offered for people across the world who are killed, imprisoned, and persecuted in other ways for practicing their faith. We do not need to be spiritually asleep on this day, but alive and actively calling out to the Father for our nation.
In his own prayer, Massie thanked God for the “blessed privilege of prayer” and asked that God purge hatred from every heart and give individuals the wisdom, courage and love to live in peace with themselves and their neighbors.
