“What my country and our other neighbours are facing today is Pakistan’s long-standing policy of sponsoring terrorism, the consequences of which have spread well beyond our region”, she added.

“India has been the target of cross border terrorism emanating from Pakistan or territory under its control … onus is now squarely on Pakistan to act against terrorist groups and entities which find safe haven and all types of support in Pakistan and indulge in cross border terrorism against its neighbours”, Vikas Swarup, Spokesperson and JS (XP), Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).

“We are ready to play a constructive role in the improvement of relations between Pakistan and India, ” he said and added that China would keep raising its voice in support of Pakistan on all global forums. Singhvi called Pakistan the biggest exporter of terrorism in the world.

“We have heard Pakistan, whose nuclear proliferation record is marked by deception and deceit, talking about restraint, renunciation and peace”.

Terrorism is being recognised as a larger regional concern because the worldwide community is also suffering from Pakistan-sponsored terrorism, Swarup added. Perhaps renunciation of lies and self-restraint on threats could be a good place for Pakistan to start.

In his speech at 71st session of the United Nations General Assembly yesterday, Sharif had glorified Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani whom he hailed as a “young leader murdered by Indian forces” who has emerged as the “symbol of the latest Kashmiri Intifada, a popular and peaceful freedom movement”.

According to India Today, the Secretary of State during a meeting with the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Nawaz Sharif, asked him to support India in its efforts to thwart terrorists who attacked the military camp in Uri, Jammu and Kashmir, killing 19 Indian soldiers.

It also reported that the United States has ridiculed the Pakistan’s ran for Kashmir and has asked Sharif to support India in all possible ways in the investigation of Uri attack. “Over a hundred Kashmiris have been killed, hundreds, including children and infants, blinded by shotgun pellets and over six thousand unarmed civilians injured over the past two months”, he said. People of Pakistan are paying the price of a malevolent government. We condemn terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, ” the PM said, adding that Pakistan was successfully carrying out Operation Zarb e Azab against terrorism. He talked not like the supreme commander of Pakistan, but he talked like the supreme commander of Hizbul Mujahideen. He said these moving developments have drawn attention of the world community as a result of Pakistan Government’s effective diplomacy, which has disturbed India that is now creating the dramas like Uri attack to divert the world attention from the Kashmir issue. He scoffed at Islamabad for wanting dialogue while holding a gun, adding India will “never succumb to such tactics and blackmail”.
