Daytona Beach gun range will have restaurant that serves booze

Only one, Commissioner Ruth Trager, voted against the range and restaurant’s application over concerns about determining whether or not potential customers are sober, felons or both.

A gun range connected to a restaurant that will serve alcohol has been allowed to open in Daytona Beach, Fla., following concern by city planners.

“I firmly believe that it will be safer than any restaurant in Florida”. The commissioners did not demand it, however, after Perkinson said he would put up enough signs to make sure it was abundantly clear that no weapons were allowed in the restaurant.

Commissioners suggested that Perkinson would not have a way of detecting whether or not guns were brought into the restaurant by those who’ve obtained a concealed carry permit, and Perkinson responded that he would install metal detectors if the commissioners deemed it necessary.

Shooting after drinking will be strictly prohibited, and each person who dines and drinks will first have to submit to a mandatory ID scan, which will advise the staff if they have purchased any alcoholic drinks.

“To the critics, I say, you’re right”, he said. Some commissioners were concerned about whether it is safe to allow people to shoot guns while under the influence, but others said that there are gun ranges in Daytona Beach with “fewer safety precautions” than this new business. I’m not trying to mix the two. “If you choose to have an alcoholic beverage and go home, that’s on you”. “It’s no different than them leaving here and going to Outback”, Perkinson said.

The owners also promised they would keep a watch list of customers who cause trouble and call police when necessary.
