DC is quiet, but the zoo’s panda is out making snow angels

Dedicated panda-watchers will remember that a year ago, the zoo posted video of Bao Bao, Tian Tian’s daughter, experiencing snow for the first time.

By noon Saturday, the video had been viewed 1.7 million times on Facebook and shared more than 135,000 times.

The 254 pound Giant Panda was born on August 27, 1997. Storm Jonas was his introduction to snow.

By contrast, panda cub Bei Bei was less amused by the conditions when he was introduced to the snow for a few minutes, zookeepers said on Instagram.

At the John Ball Zoo, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, lots of animals get to enjoy the snow, not just the obvious snow lovers.
