AAA said Sunday that the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gas is $2.28, down from $2.34 a week ago. At this time previous year , the average price per gallon was $3.28 in the state.

AAA notes the downward trend in prices is a result of the domestic market continuing to be oversupplied, while refineries also switch to cheaper winter blends.
