DCCC Won’t Fund Wasserman Schultz Race
Mahoning County Democratic Party Chair Dave Betras said Sanders’ speech was incredible and puts an end to the party unification drama that dominated day one of the DNC.

Donald Trump on Monday dismissed as a “joke” claims by Hillary Clinton’s campaign that Russian Federation is trying to help Trump by leaking thousands of emails from the Democratic National Committee.
It’s supposed to be Hillary Clinton’s convention, but the focus Monday was on her primary challenger, Bernie Sanders, and his delegates, who continue to stew over a WikiLeaks release of Democratic National Committee emails that showed favoritism to Clinton over Sanders. Regina Williams- Preston is at her first convention.
So, yeah, not the best start! The U.S president’s wife, Michelle Obama and a progressive Democratic favorite, Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren, also made the case for Clinton in her race against Republican Donald Trump, the billionaire real estate mogul, who claimed his party’s nomination last week. She is shouldering the blame for revelations in almost 20,000 DNC emails released by WikiLeaks Friday.
At first, Debbie Wasserman Schultz was poised to easily win re-election to her House seat, but that was before her recent email scandal and before Sen.
“On behalf of everyone at the DNC, we want to offer a deep and honest apology to Senator Sanders, his supporters, and the entire Democratic Party for the inexcusable remarks made over email”, incoming interim DNC chair Donna Brazile said in a statement.
“This election is about and must be about the needs of the American people”, Bernie Sanders said. But she told the crowd in Philadelphia – and a national television audience – that she plans to vote for Clinton.
“I think it’s fair to say that no one is more disappointed than I am”, Sanders said.
“We’re exhausted of being put in a corner”, said Gail Gouveia, from MA.
Comedian Sarah Silverman didn’t mince words in her message to die-hard Bernie Sanders supporters at the Democratic convention: “Can I just say to the Bernie or bust people, you’re being ridiculous”.

The embarrassment caused by leaked emails not only cost Wasserman Schultz her position as head of the DNC, it’s also providing fodder for her primary-election opponent.
