DDCA row: AAP escalates protest against Arun Jaitley
In a special Session of the Assembly, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal demanded resignation of the Prime Minister for what he described as “shielding Jaitley “. The allegations pertain to inflated payments toward the construction of a cricket stadium in the nation’s capital when Jaitley headed the sport’s administrative body in the state. The Aam Aadmi Party-led Delhi government’s transport department has announced that violators of will be fined Rs 2000 – which will be applicable for the 15-day trial period starting 1 January 2016. Rathore said instead of answering questions, the Delhi Chief Minister goes on a counter attack which involves “using abusive language and accusations” that have not been upheld by any investigation.

Rahul Gandhi and his mother Sonia Gandhi, the top leaders of the main opposition Congress, were granted bail by a court over the weekend in a high-profile legal tussle after a petitioner, belonging to the BJP, accused them of financial irregularity, which the Congress party has denied.

A 2014 inquiry into the DDCA unearthed auditing errors and unaccounted expenses that were sanctioned during Jaitley’s tenure.
