DDCA row: Campaign against Arun Jaitley will fail, says BJP
A week ago, the Central Bureau of Investigation had searched Delhi chief minister and rival Aam Aadmi Party member Arvind Kejriwal’s office, which Kejriwal said was linked to a file relating to the DDCA issue.

In a strong show of support for Arun Jaitley, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said the Union finance minister will come through “with flying colours” against charges of corruption levelled against him by the opposition in a same way L K Advani did in the Hawala case.
“He (Jaitley) said that he will ensure quashing of cases that come to Delhi police and, if AAP sets up a commission of inquiry, he will get it null and void through “our special man” LG”.
He also said that the defamation suits would not scare him from his path and his fight against corruption would continue. The government at that time tried to implicate him in the Hawala case.
Since then, the party has been demanding resignation of Jaitley from the Union Cabinet.
The Deputy Chief Minister said that internal committee of the Delhi Government, after talking to stakeholders, had prepared its report which “pointed fingers at Arun Jaitley”.
Mr. Jaitley said Delhi did not have a cricket stadium but only a ground when he took over as president of DDCA.
What compounded the crisis for Jaitley and his party was the attack by BJP lawmaker Kirti Azad on the issue.
The Chief Minister, against whom Jaitley has filed both civil and criminal defamation suits, further alleged that the CBI was specifically looking for a file “containing a note” with “incriminating” details. Jaitley headed the DDCA for 13 years till 2013.
While addressing the Delhi Assembly, Kejriwal said, “Rajendra Kumar was being interrogated by the CBI for hours for the past six days”. The legislative impasse has intensified in recent weeks after Modi’s opponents say he is unfairly using federal agencies to probe political foes, a charge denied by his government. So they referred the case to the Serious Frauds Office.
He further said, “By all acts of omissions and commissions by the defendants, including making false, baseless, scandalous, malicious statements/allegations against the plaintiff, they have made themselves liable individually and collectively for the irreversible and unquantifiable damage caused to the plaintiff”. BJP MPs were also asked to observe good governance day on December 25, birth day of party stalwart Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

“A fair probe is possible only when Arun Jaitley resigns form his post and if he does not resign, he must be sacked by prime minister”, Congress leader P.L. Punia told reporters at a press conference here.
