DDCA to take a call on Azad’s membership on Dec 26
Mr Azad also intends to take up his issue with the BJP’s Margdarshak Mandal which, besides the Prime Minister, comprises Mr L.K. Advani, Dr Murli Manohar Joshi and Union home minister Rajnath Singh. “I don’t think party should lose such a honest person like him”, swamy told ANI.

This was not an official meeting of the “Marg Darshak Mandal” but one of the veterans who also took a stand widely seen as critical of Modi’s and Bharatiya Janata Party president Amit Shah’s leadership after the party’s huge defeat in assembly polls in Bihar.
BJP had accused Azad of indulging in anti-party activities and “colluding” with Congress and AAP to bring the party into “disrepute”.
The move came two days after he held a press conference detailing the corruption with DDCA, which was headed by Arun Jaitley till 2013. “They picked up on my concerns and I am not responsible for that”, he said. They feel that there should be an internal inquiry into the allegations made by Azad over DDCA.
Sources said the leaders agreed that the entire episode, from Azad’s allegations about financial irregularities in Delhi’s cricket body and his subsequent suspension, had given an opportunity to its political opponents to criticise the party. The former cricketer said he’d file a public interest suit on the issue and warned that people “will be in trouble”.
Confirming the development, DDCA Joint Secretary Dinesh Sharma said the Joint Secretary would sit on December 26 to take a decision over Azad’s membership to the DDCA. For him, it’s not Kirti Azad versus Arun Jaitley.
Azad said that he had full “faith” in Prime Minister Modi and would expect him to do “justice”. Party leader Subramanian Swamy has agreed to help Azad draft a reply on the charges levelled against him.
” Party should tell me specifically what my anti-party activities are?”
Squarely blaming the party for the turn of events, Azad said, “The party is responsible for this, not I…”

Meanwhile, Mr. Azad, who has just returned from Ahmedabad, sent his reply to the party’s notice to suspend him. While Kirti Azad’s suspension was not the primary goal of the meeting, the leaders expressed concern over issues like DDCA row and the National Herald case eclipsing “major issues” like the Paris climate pact, the Nairobi WTO ministerial meeting and farmers’ problems in the Winter Session which ended on Wednesday.
