Johnson grabs the woman’s hand, she appears to throw her opposing arm at him, and he then punches her across her left cheek.

On Monday afternoon, the Tallahassee Democrat obtained a video from law enforcement officials of the incident and posted it on its website.

The Florida State Seminoles have dismissed quarterback De’Andre Johnson from their team after a video emerged of him allegedly striking a woman.

“I fully support Coach Fisher’s decisions to immediately suspend and subsequently dismiss De’Andre Johnson from the football team”, said FSU President John Threasher in a statement released on Tuesday.

“It wasn’t until she struck him twice that he reacted”, Baez told NBC News. State Attorney Meggs said the video is very strong evidence and he said the woman still has a black eye. After being charged, Johnson was released from jail on July 2 on a $500 bond. “While it is always important to adhere to due process, having now seen the physical altercation captured on video, there is no question in my mind that Coach Fisher made the correct decisions”. I have no tolerance for the kind of behavior exhibited in this case. All students must know their university will do everything it can to ensure a safe, healthy and positive environment in which they can learn and enjoy their college experience.

TMZ Sports reported today that Johnson’s camp says that the woman used the N-word and there are witnesses who will attest to hearing the slur.

The woman, a Florida State student, suffered several injuries to her face, according to court records. “We certainly don’t want him to pay for the rest of his life for an incident that occurred in a bar”.

That’s when Johnson, 19, responds by throwing a crushing right cross to her face, after which you can see the woman bleeding all over the bar.

“He makes no excuses for what happened”, Baez told NBC.
