The Dolphins will be without the services of starting safety Louis Delmas who was carted off the field earlier this week with a torn ACL.

Still, it’s never easy replacing a player like Benjamin. Their only slip-up: When the Miami Dolphins went 11-5 in 2008 to vault past the Tom Brady-less Patriots.

There is a very good competition at running back and wide-receiver.

The Panthers are hoping rookie second-round draft pick Devin Funchess might be able to step up and take on Benjamin’s role as the “lead dog”.

Philbin likes the progress Vigil has made to this point in training camp.

The Miami Dolphins will take on the Carolina Panthers tonight at 7:00 eastern time. Under Ron Rivera since 2013, the Panthers have closed nearly to perfection, at 8-1 in the critical final month of the season to win a division. “He’ll have to step it up and learn that style and technique of play”. He will compete for the position alongside veterans Jerricho Cotchery and Ted Ginn Jr., along with former Packer Jarrett Boykin.

Delmas is expected to miss the entire or majority of the 2015 season because of the injury, with ESPN reporting that likely replacements for him are Walt Aikens and Michael Thomas. He said a lot will be determined by how they perform in the rest of the preseason, including Saturday night against Carolina. Under Joe Philbin, the Dolphins got blown out by the Bills and Jets to be knocked out in “13, and they had a similar flameout against the Ravens, Patriots and Jets in 2014”.

The Dolphins also signed tight end Jordan Cameron, who has been an effective pass-catcher when healthy.

Aside from the injuries, coaches and players alike felt like the two days of joint practices were productive. The Dolphins were even called for holding twice during their best drive of the game. Franks needs to get on the field tonight and it will be of interest to see who has the better chance to make the roster. “I’m excited. I think we did, we came out here and accomplished some good things”.

Miami Dolphins superstar defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh has just bought himself a nice mansion on the Intracoastal in Fort Lauderdale, Gossip Extra has learned.

“Did I expect the chatter? I’m definitely happy about my life, but there’s more to accomplish”, Suh said. He said, “Honestly, the focus right now is on winning”.
