Police Chief William Messerich says firefighters and other first responders saw flames coming from the back of the house upon arriving at the scene.
When they made their way inside the home they faced intense heat and smoke. A five-year-old boy was rushed to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
A family friend told Fox 9 two parents live in the house with two small children, but the victims’ identities haven’t been released.
Firefighters found three victims in the house, which is just south of the Southview Boulevard commercial area. “He’s a nice guy, nice fellow, him and his wife”.
