Gaston County officials confirm that two officers were shot late Saturday night along Greenwood Drive near Chapel Grove School Road.

The woman and two Gaston County officers suffered non-life threatening injuries in the shooting after 9 p.m.in Gastonia, WSOC-TV reported. When authorities arrived on scene, they were confronted outside the home by a suspect armed with a shotgun and a pistol. The two officers, both men, were not identified. “During the exchange two officers were wounded and the suspect was fatally wounded”. Gaston EMS took three people to the Caromont Regional Medical Center.
A second man was found deceased in a home, according to Ramsey.
Authorities say seven people were critically injured in a hit-and-run crash involving two cars in Hollywood. They were reportedly alert and talking.
Moore said she thinks police shot the man after he fired at them.

Gaston County commissioners chairman Tracy Philbeck tweeted about the shooting on Saturday, saying “Please keep our officers in your prayers”. “The officer-involved shootings are a hard thing to follow right at the moment but our officers are professional”.
