Dead Body Found On Side Of Chester County Road Ruled Homicide

Chester County District Attorney Tom Hogan says this was not a random act, the victim was targeted, and he says they expect to make arrest soon.

Winfield, the 17-year-old victim’s friend, arranged for him to sell marijuana to another suspect through text messages and Twitter, police said. According to a press release, at about 10:20 p.m. Thursday, West Chester police responded to the 700 block of Hillsdale Road in East Bradford Township.

The men – Onray L. Winfield, 19, of West Chester; Darrell T. Woodward, 19, of Coatesville; Gerald D. Myers, 19, of West Chester; and Bryon K. Stevens, 50, of Coatesville – have been charged with murder, robbery, conspiracy and related offenses.

Police have made four arrests in the killing of a teen near West Chester, whose body was found by the side of a road. The victim is dead, leaving behind a grieving family. “All over a little marijuana and a few dollars”. “He was the coolest kid in West Chester to meet up with and hang out with”, said another friend. Police eventually were able to identify the victim as Santiago.

After meeting Myers, Woodward and Stevens at the gas station, Santiago was allegedly driven off by the trio.

Police said Santiago got into a vehicle with the three men who then drove away. “The West Chester Police Department and Chester County Detectives worked together seamlessly to investigate this case and take risky criminals off the street”.

The body was found on Hillsdale Road between Bradford Avenue and McIntosh Road. The assigned prosecutor is Deputy District Attorney Thomas Ost-Prisco.
