Dead in Apparent Road Rage Shooting on Oklahoma Highway
A man sped through three counties in the night while firing randomly from his pickup truck, hitting at least four vehicles and killing two people on an Oklahoma interstate, police said. The driver went into Washita County and then turned around, driving back into Custer County before the pursuit ended.

The first indication of trouble came in calls shortly before midnight to authorities in Caddo County about a possible road-rage incident along I-40, Custer County Sheriff Bruce Peoples told CNN.
Investigators said Hardy continued driving west on I-40 and shooting at different vehicles.
One of those bullets struck and killed 45-year-old Jeremy Doss Hardy, who had been driving with his wife westbound on the interstate, OSBI said. The agency says Powell was pronounced dead at the scene near Hydro, which is about 60 miles west of Oklahoma City.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol eventually stopped and arrested the suspect in Custer County, but not before he had shot and killed a man near El Reno and killed a woman near Weatherford. The woman, Billie Jean West, was pronounced dead at a hospital in Weatherford. Authorities have not yet interviewed him to determine a motive, but they don’t suspect anyone was specifically targeted.
Authorities were still receiving phone calls as of 8 a.m. local time from people whose vehicles were hit by gunfire during the shooting spree, KOCO reported.
The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation will begin investigating the two homicides, and the OHP investigators will also be involved, Peoples said.
