Deadline Day: Leicester confirm Slimani is a done deal
Sporting Lisbon forward Islam Slimani has been given permission to leave Algeria’s training camp to have a medical with Leicester City.

The Foxes will undoubtedly be pleased with such a record-they will play Porto twice in the UEFA Champions League group stage.
Islam Slimani has moved a step closer to joining Leicester City after the FAF released him from global duty for a medical.
However, Silva’s proposed switch to Leicester is now off, with no indication as to why.
“The president assured me when, after so many years of dedication, he would not put obstacles to my professional development since receiving an interesting proposal for both parties”.
The Leicester target has won a total of 13 caps for Portugal so far.
Slimani will boost the Foxes attacking line if he is able to replicate anywhere near the form he showed for the Portuguese giants last season.
Silva claimed earlier this week that he was hoping to make the move to Leicester, only for Sporting to release a statement saying they expected the midfielder to stay in Lisbon. “At 27 years old, and after so many years of loyalty, I think that no one will criticize me for wanting to embrace this challenge”.
Slimani, 28, scored 27 times in the Portuguese league last season, helping Sporting finish in second place behind Benfica.
The Algeria global will link up with his worldwide teammate Riyad Mahrez, who signed a new contract at the club earlier this month.
