Deadly arson attack unleashes renewed violence in West Bank and Israel
Clashes between Palestinians and Israeli security forces erupted at a refugee camp between Ramallah and Jerusalem on Thursday, with one Palestinian killed, health officials said, as a fresh outbreak of violence hit the West Bank.

The Israeli radio said that the young man was shot dead by Israeli security forces after he stabbed an Israel security guard with a knife at the entrance to the settlement and moderately wounded him.
Police identified the two attackers as Palestinians in their early 20s from the West Bank.
On Wednesday, two Palestinian attackers were shot dead after they stabbed and killed an Israeli man. Another Israeli man died after he apparently was shot by Israeli police trying to subdue the attackers.
Israeli soldiers and policemen inspect the scene where a Palestinian assailant was shot dead after he tried to stab Israeli security forces with a screwdriver, south of the West Bank city of Hebron on December 24, 2015 in the second such incident of the day.
A fourth Palestinian was killed in clashes with Israeli troops, according to a Palestinian hospital official.
Two other Palestinians were killed in separate incidents, including an attack by a motorist on Israeli troops, with one soldier lightly wounded.
Palestinians have often highlighted the lack of progress in the case as one of the causes of the wave of attacks targeting Israelis that began on October 1.
Both of the Israeli victims in the first incident were left with moderate wounds, Israeli police said.
Tensions have been high in Hebron, where several hundred Israeli settlers have moved in to live under heavy military guard among the local community of around 200,000 Palestinians.
The surge in attacks has been partly fuelled by Palestinian frustration over the collapse of U.S.-sponsored peace talks in 2014, the growth of Jewish settlements on land they seek for a future state and Islamist calls for the destruction of Israel.
The wave of attacks has seen at least 23 Israelis killed by Palestinians since the start of October.

Police spokesman, Chief Superintendent Asi Aharoni praised the swift actions of the Border Police officers, saying “They understood immediately that an attack was occurring and they bravely ran to the site… and prevented more innocent people from getting hurt”. The Palestinians say it is rooted in frustrations stemming from almost five decades of Israeli occupation.
