Deadly shooting reported on Northern Arizona University college campus in

Lafayette police say a mountain lion is suspected in a deadly bulldog attack. While the campus is not on lockdown, school president Rita Cheng says: “This is not going to be a normal day at NAU”.

The incident occurred Thursday morning near a parking lot off of Carroll Street.

She says the first police call about the gunfire came in at 1:20 a.m. PDT Friday. “Our hearts are heavy”.

“How am I supposed to feel safe where I’m learning”, Gonzalez said. “When I think of Flagstaff, I think safety”, he said.

In a statement on its website, the Dallas-based airline said it’s working on the technology issues and airport-based employees are helping customers with their individual itineraries.

“The three wounded have been taken to Flagstaff Medical Center, but the hospital is no releasing information on their conditions”.

Arizona political leaders voiced support for the university and surrounding community, with Governor Doug Ducey calling the shooting heartbreaking.

On Friday, police said their investigation and interviews with residents leads investigators to believe a mountain lion killed the dog. The gunman in the Oregon shooting wounded nine others before turning the gun on himself.

All four victims were students.
