‘Deadpool’ Review: Everything You Hoped It Would Be
The highest-grossing opening weekend for an R-rated movie was $91.8 million for “The Matrix Reloaded” back in 2003. The first post-credits scene for the “Deadpool” movie is a parody of the classic post-credits scene from “Ferris Bueller”. The Deadpool actor revealed that the couple once went on a double date – with other people – before they began seeing each other.

Uncanny X-Force Vol. 1 (2011-2012): Deadpool’s first major team-up, and a slightly more serious side to the merc (along with a costume change). During a brutal and bloody massacre on a highway bridge in search of the mysterious “Francis”, Deadpool decapitates goons and causes a multi-car pile up, all the while hurling highly creative and vulgar insults at his victims, with time stretching and pausing for him to fill the audience in on his backstory.

And for Reynolds, the film is a chance for the actor to break away from his last go round in tights as DC’s Green Lantern, a performance that was panned by fans and critics.
“Two Deadpools, one cup”.
She also praises the film’s star, Ryan Reynolds, with whom she appeared in 2009’s The Proposal, for looking “so f***ing handsome in his red suit”.

Instead, we’ll just have to make do with the current Deadpool film, which has made a rather stunning start to its box office tenure. “Do the dirty work, man”, Reynolds said.
Nothing is sacred to either this film or this character (played with “I’m so naughty” abandon by Ryan Reynolds), which pokes fun at superhero movie culture, Hollywood itself, Reynolds, director Tim Miller, love and human decency – and that’s just in the opening credits. You’re either 100% on board with it (as I am), or you already have Deadpool fatigue (as do a few unnamed FSR colleagues). Just need a big guy with a flat top. This is an R-rated superhero parody-as it should be.

When it came time to find their Negasonic Teenage Warhead, though, they weren’t advertising it. “When I auditioned, her name was Kathy, because they do these codenames”, Brianna Hildebrand, the actress who would ultimately land the part, told us at a Deadpool screening Thursday night in Los Angeles. Viewing Fox’s “Deadpool” after the stinker that was their mega-bomb from past year “Fantastic Four” is like a D student suddenly coming home with an A on his report card.
