DeAndre Levy removed from Non-Football Injury list

The Detroit Lions have removed linebacker DeAndre Levy from active/non-football injury list. Considering all the secrecy surrounding Levy’s hip injury previous year, which caused him to essentially miss the entire season, some were anxious Detroit was hiding another significant injury. More likely, Levy will get in some practice today and a full week of practice before next week’s preseason game.

Levy, 29, is also expected to practice with the team on Tuesday. His return comes at a flawless time.

ESPN’s Josina Anderson reports Lions LB Jon Bostic is out six-to-12 weeks with a broken foot.

Throughout camp, the Lions have declined to reveal what was ailing Levy, but the player, coach Jim Caldwell and general manager Bob Quinn expressed minimal concern the injury would keep the linebacker sidelined into the regular season. You can bet that he has a sour taste in his mouth and is looking to prove his 2014 season wasn’t a fluke and that he’s truly one of the best linebackers in the NFL.
