The Lions enter their second game of the season with a longer injury report, LB DeAndre Levy (hip) did not participate in this week’s practices and is listed as doubtful heading into Sunday’s game, DT Haloti Ngata (shoulder) didn’t practice on Wednesday and was limited in Thursday and Friday, Ngata is questionable against the Vikings.

Darius Slay, Caraun Reid and Larry Warford are all coming back from ankle injuries and have participated in position drills for the past three days. “Anybody who’s listed on our report, anything could happen with it. That’s the nature of the business”. I dont address reports that dont come from us, Caldwell said in his press conference prior to practice. It was well publicized when he sent photos on Instagram. Listing an injury simply as “leg”, “arm”, “upper body”, or some other vague description is not acceptable.

Caldwell repeated his oft-used line Friday when asked whether there’s any concern that Levy could be dealing with a potential season-ending injury.

Levy has not talked to the media since he was injured.

“I haven’t seen too many coaches that give great detailed information in terms of accurate information on different issues that pop up with players”, he said. I think youre going to see that time and time again with us from a positional standpoint.

Levys agent Joe Panos told Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network that the report is “100 percent false.”. “The team believes it’s short-term”.

Although the 6-foot Wallace’s long speed is his best attribute, Slay said the Vikings are trying to use him more on intermediate routes with hopes that he can turn shorter catches into long gains.

Brandon Pettigrew did not practice at all this week and has already been ruled out of Sunday’s game.
