Dear PM Narendra Modi, is normalcy the answer of development in Kashmir?

The demand, which was initially made by Leader of Opposition, Ghulam Nabi Azad, urged the government to hold an all-party meet to discuss the ongoing crisis in the Valley and send a delegation to the state right away.

As members of the treasury benches objected to it leading to an uproar, Finance Minister and Leader of the House Arun Jaitley said the situation in Kashmir is “sensitive” and “therefore it is imperative, as far as possible, we speak in one voice”.

Earlier, Azad associated himself with the views of BSP leader Satish Mishra on Dalit issue and took a jibe on the Prime Minister for making statement on the issue from Telangana and not in Parliament. Calling him Wazeer-e-Azam, Azad pointed that even incidents in Africa induce a response from the Prime Minister, but the Kashmir issue fails to get a response in the House from him.

Speaking on the Kashmir issue in Rajya Sabha, Congress leader Gulam Nabi Azad on Wednesday challenged PM Modi’s recent dialogue on Kashmir issue and said that Kashmir is not just to be loved for its beauty, but one must also love Kashmir for its people, who have suffered because of protests.

Hurriyat (G) chairman reminded the fanatic and fascist people of BJP that history is witness to the fact that no power on earth, no matter how cruel and barbaric that be has ever succeeded in curbing the freedom sentiments and who else more than you know it better.

“The law and order is not the sole responsibility of the Kashmir Police.the paramilitary forces are also involved”. Armed with stones, they have attacked security forces in daily clashes, who have retaliated with pellet guns, rendering almost 100 people blind and leaving many others injured.

Nationalist Congress Party leader D.P. Tripathi said the house and the nation were “united against those causing problems in Kashmir from across the border”. Hundreds, who have been hit by pellets, have partially or fully lost their eyesight.

Breaking his silence after 32 days of turmoil in Kashmir, the “Heaven on Earth” which turned into “hell” with separatist militants unleashing terror on the streets and intimidating security personnel, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday called for peace in the Valley to address people’s grievances. “Between people of India & J&K”, Azad said. “But they failed to Indanise us and they will fail in future as well”, he said.

“Kashmir wants peace. The citizens of Kashmir want to earn more money through tourism”.

“The report was submitted in 2009-10. There is a difference between communalism and separatism”, Azad added. When Vajpayee used the terms Insaniyat, Jamhuriyat and Kashmiriyat it conveyed a certain sense because words like these gelled with his persona. “Kashmiriyat” and “Insaniyat” are murdered by pellet guns.

He also cautioned the Narendra Modi government against preparing a list of Kashmiri students to single them out.

“Whatever Kashmiris want for betterment of their livelihood, the Centre will help”, he said.
