Debate Details Revealed: Clinton Gets First Question

Interest is high in the face-to-face meeting between the two nominees, with predictions of viewership akin to those for a Super Bowl, not a political debate.

A propensity to sweat influenced viewers/voters’ opinion of Mr. Nixon. Kaine, the former governor of Virginia who is now a US senator from the commonwealth, gets home-field advantage here.

Whether a few drops on his upper lip cost Mr. Nixon election in 1960 or not is, well … debatable.

The Commission on Presidential Debates has some advice for debate moderators this fall: leave the fact-checking to the candidates.

It also reported that Clinton’s been focused on knocking Trump off his game, and making him seem temperamentally unfit for the Oval Office.

So how should you watch this D-Day of Debates? I couldn’t help it; Trump’s tactics are that good. “That shows aggression”, Brown said – referencing Trump during a Fox News Debate past year.

If nothing else, Johnson would have provided an additional voice and possibly could have challenged Clinton and Trump in ways that are less predictable from the way the Democrat and GOP candidates are likely to go after each other. Its 90 minutes will be divided, allegedly equally, between six subjects – jobs, terrorism, foreign policy, health care, trade, and racism – all heady as November 8, 2016 nears.

Robby Mook, Clinton’s campaign manager, on ABC’s “This Week” called on NBC debate moderator Lester Holt to correct inaccuracies made by the candidates. The town-meeting will be moderated by ABC News’Martha Radiate and CNN’s Anderson Cooper.

It’s only at the second debate, a town hall style format, where they’ll be allowed to hop onto a stool when they’re not speaking. The Las Vegas showdown will be structured along the lines of tonight’s event. However, since previous moderators haven’t stuck to that role, it’s unlikely that Holt will restrict himself in this way. We will have to see what happens November 8th.

Trump’s campaign has been built on the premise of constructing a wall on the southern border, and it’s likely to be part of all three of Monday’s debate themes. And no debate will have as large an audience, or do as much to shape public perceptions of the candidates, as this first one. He also won the nomination.

Everybody knows Clinton’s weakness is an inability to ad lib. Trump had trouble navigating this terrain in the primaries, when he tried to back away from a derogatory comment about rival Carly Fiorina’s looks by declaring in one debate that she had a “beautiful face”. “We now have a person at the top of the Republican ticket who I believe is risky, doesn’t understand the complex world we live in, doesn’t care to, and is without any moral or global philosophy”, Gregg said in a statement.

The answer could be fun.

Trump’s “America First” mantra is alluring in a country where the resentment of “others” and disdain for the world ― immigrants, economic competitors, “nation building” ― is rampant. Conversely, they could be watching to cheer or their donkey or elephant as the case may be.

Where can I watch it?

Ryan responded Sunday, “I don’t see it that way, that’s not how I would describe it”.

That was up two points from the previous week. “I will be in your corner”, she said on twitter on Sunday, setting the stage for potentially uneasy moments.

From Clinton, I want to see someone who doesn’t talk of the last 24 years since her husband vied for, and won, the presidency, but a detailed outline of what she has in mind for January 20, 2017, and onward.

Senator, I want to start with millennial voters. “I doubt he will have a command of the issues”. “I think he’s been an absolutely terrible president”.

Unless … one of both of the candidates shows something new and makes me fell a trust I do have now about either of them.
