But Jeff Weaver, the Sanders campaign chairman – Wasserman Schultz called him an “ass” in one of the emails – told MSNBC that the resignation was a smart move, signaling that Sanders supporters were set to end the tensions. Anything less risks having Sanders being blamed for any signs of disunity that emerge from this convention. Negotiating her exit from the DNC, she secured a senior surrogate spot on the Clinton campaign, and she insisted in sticking out the week.
“On behalf of everyone at the DNC, we want to offer a deep and honest apology to Senator Sanders, his supporters, and the entire Democratic Party for the inexcusable remarks made over email”.
On Friday, the Wikileaks website published nearly 20,000 pages of hacked Democratic National Committee emails concerning the Clinton and Bernie Sanders campaigns.
The respected, non-partisan Cook Political Report still shows Wasserman Schultz as a “solid” pick to win reelection.

Other delegates were upset that hours after announcing she would step down after the convention Hillary Clinton said she was bringing the Florida congresswoman onto her campaign.
Beyond her DNC role, Wasserman Schultz is also considered a prolific fundraiser and deeply in touch with district voters, include many who like her are Jewish.
Sanders, US President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama, Vice President Joseph Biden, Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren, former NY mayor Michael Bloomberg, and husband and former President Bill Clinton will all advocate for Clinton in primetime this week. And considering what just took place in Cleveland, no liberal – whether they voted Clinton or Sanders in the primaries – will want to risk that.
Speaking to a convention of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Clinton slammed many of his positions, vowing to stand by American allies, fight dictators, and listen to the advice of military officials.

“I stand here today as proof you can live a normal and empowered life with mental illness”, she said, before breaking into a performance of her song “Confident”. The attention should be on Hillary Clinton.
