Debbie Wasserman Schultz booed at Florida Democrats DNC Breakfast

Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, who was removed from her chairmanship of the Democratic National Committee as a result of this weekend’s damaging Wikileaks emails, has joined Hillary Clinton’s campaign as an “honorary chair”.

Wasserman Schultz will be stepping down as DNC chair after the convention, but on Monday morning, she said she will maintain an active role as a Clinton campaign surrogate. And, when Wasserman Schultz later spoke at the Florida delegates breakfast Monday, she tried to fend off boos and jeers from the crowd. Emails related to DNC chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s trip to Alaska were part of the release.

She abruptly cancelled that plan just a few hours before she was to gavel open the nominating convention.

Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake replaced Wasserman Schultz on the podium to start the proceedings.

“You will see me every day between now and November 8 on the campaign trail”, Wasserman Schultz said, over shouts. I mean, there’s no question to my mind and I think no question to any objective observer’s mind that the DNC was supporting Hillary Clinton, was in opposition to our campaign. Democratic political consultant Donna Brazile will serve as an interim chairwoman of the DNC until after the November 8 general election, when the position will be permanently filled.

Earlier Sunday, Sanders had called for Wasserman Schultz to resign.

President Obama also celebrated Wasserman Schultz despite the negative events surrounding her resignation, which is effective at the end of the week.

The heckling didn’t stop even as Wasserman Schultz mentioned last night’s shooting in Fort Meyers, Fla., that left two dead and more than a dozen injured.

Granholm told the Free Press that she thinks Brazile will “be great” in the interim role.

Hillary Clinton thanked for “longtime friend” for her “leadership of the Democratic National Committee” and was “grateful to Debbie for getting the Democratic Party to this year’s historic convention”.

“Donald Trump on trade is a phony, and I think we’re going to have to expose him”, Weaver said, adding Trump is a “dangerous candidate” and that third-party voters should unite behind Clinton.
