Debbie Wasserman Schultz booed at raucous Florida delegate breakfast
Amid furor over an email leak that revealed a bias against Bernie Sanders inside the Democratic National Committee, Debbie Wasserman Schultz announced Sunday she will step down as chair.

“Going forward, the best way for me to accomplish those goals is to step down as Party Chair at the end of this convention”, said Wasserman Schultz in a statement on Sunday.
“The Wikileaks emails indicate that Debbie Wasserman Schultz used DNC resources to assist her reelection campaign in violation of federal law”. The attention should be on Hillary Clinton.
Wasserman Schultz has been a target of criticism throughout the presidential campaign between Sanders and Hillary Clinton.
This video includes clips from the Democratic National Committee, MSNBC, PBS, Rep. Marcia Fudge, C-SPAN, Bernie 2016 and CBS. One indicated Wasserman Schultz had asked staffers to take Canova’s name out of a headline on a statement that was being sent out in response to Sanders’s endorsement of Canova. He also repeated his call for a series of campaign debates with Wasserman Schultz.
Pressure on her to resign comes as the party looks to project unity following last week’s often fractious Republican convention.
Before the announcement, Sanders told ABC’s “This Week” that he was “disappointed” but “not shocked” by the content of the leaked emails.
Wasserman Schultz announced she’s now working for the Hillary Clinton campaign. We see what happens when people target people based on religion.
However, ties won’t exactly be severed between Clinton and Wasserman Schultz following the chairwoman’s resignation. But she may not have presided over the convention anyway.
“I told you a long time ago that the DNC was not running a fair operation, that they were supporting Secretary Clinton”, Sanders said. Tim Kaine, himself a former DNC chair.
Delegate Taz Tally says he has always been a nonpartisan but got involved in the Democratic party because of Sanders. However, according to the Washington Post, the congresswoman from Florida refused to vacate her position quietly or without a fight.
Blowback to the emails came from all corners of the political world Sunday – including Clinton supporters and Donald Trump.

Fitzhugh, who is not serving as a delegate but chose to attend the convention anyways, said his party’s candidate is nothing like Republican nominee Donald Trump, and the parties’ two conventions would be very different. But he doesn’t think he’ll actively campaign for her. “I mean, that is just totally unacceptable behavior”, he said.
