Debris from Russian Rocket Creates Light Show in Western Sky
U.S. Strategic Command spokeswoman Julie Ziegenhorn said it was an SL-4 rocket body booster from Russian Federation that was launched Monday.

After the bright light streaked across the sky, people lit up social media with videos and pictures of that fireball.
In Tuesday’s mysterious occurrence, Dr. Ed Krupp of the Griffith Observatory initially said it was a meteor or space debris. At around 6.30am local Las Vegas time, something odd appeared in the sky.
The mystery light looks similar to one seen on November 7, when hundreds of people reported seeing an unexplained moving object in the sky. “We had a meteor shower a week and a half ago, the Geminid meteor shower”.

CBS Los Angeles noted that some astronomers had suggested it could be part of the Ursids meteor shower expected to peak on Tuesday.
