Dede Ayew joins West Ham for club record fee

Ayew, who played alongside Dimitri Payet at Marseille before joining Swansea on a free transfer a year ago, becomes West Ham’s sixth signing of the summer as they prepare for their opening campaign at the London Stadium.

The officials banking sponsors of the Black Stars have congratulated Ghana’s deputy captain Andre Dede Ayew following his move to West Ham United in a record signing.

Some people will point out that we were close to signing him a year ago but West Ham were unwilling to match Swansea’s wage offer given the fairly wage heavy deal that had just been completed for Payet.

“It’s a big honor for me to be part of this club”, Masuaku said.

But Bilic’s desire to secure Ayew’s signature for the second summer in a row proved to be enough to convince the Ghana global his future was in east London.

Ayew joined the English Premier League last season when he signed for Swansea on a free transfer from Marseille in June 2015.

Ayew also revealed that he is looking forward to playing in the new stadium this season.

“But we are close to signing a couple of them; if those two players come then I’m quite happy with my squad”. I’ve just got to work hard at training, listen to the staff here, play the games I play, score goals and create chances and hopefully he will pick me. “I want to give back to the manager and the fans the confidence they are showing me”, he added.
