“A handful of people, who are trying to create trouble in Kashmir Valley and in Jammu, do not reflect the true image of Jammu and Kashmir”, she said.
His outlining of the priorities assumes significance as the opposition has been accusing the Modi government of having no policy with regard to dealing with the unrest. A delegation led by former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Omar Abdullah submitted a memorandum which read, “We are of the firm opinion that the Central Government should waste no further time in initiating a credible and meaningful political dialogue with all stakeholders to address the unrest in the state”.
Congress in Kashmir today accused Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley of playing politics over the ongoing unrest in the Valley, saying he should have made an appeal for maintaining calm rather than stating something which can aggravate the situation. “Pakistan and various other forces are involved in it, and the country’s unity has been challenged once again”, Jaitley said, adding that people of Jammu and Kashmir should jointly fight against this aggression.
Jaitely said that stone pelters are not satyagrahis but aggressors.
They (stone-pelters) are not satyagrahis but aggressors. “If a police post manned by 10 police personal is attacked by 2,000 stone-pelters, it is an attack, but some people do not realise it”.
Addressing a public meeting in Samba district in memory of Premnath Dogra, the founder of the Jan Sangh, the forerunner of the BJP, in Jammu and Kashmir, Jaitley said people defending rioting and stone pelting in the Kashmir Valley have nothing on their mind except petty politics.
But after those terrorists were getting eliminated, it adopted a new strategy.
Talking the rampant state of violence in the Valley at present, Jaitley emphasised on the active involvement of Pakistan in the unrest, besides separatists and divisive forces.
“If you see the history, you will find that Pakistan never accepted Jammu and Kashmir as an integral part of India”. “Time has come for the State’s political leadership, cutting across the divide, to work towards retrieving the people of Jammu and Kashmir, with honuor and dignity, from the political uncertainties they are engulfed in for the past seven decades”, she said.
Pakistan tried to internationalize Kashmir but world was not ready to listen to them, after defeats in two war.
“In 1990, they realized they would not win J&K through war”.
