Defending champ, track marshals injured in Bathurst crash
McLaughlin called it “the toughest and scariest” lap of his young career after the Volvo driver managed the slippery and wet conditions in the Top-10 Shootout to earn a front row start alongside Reynolds.

More than 30 V8 Supercar drivers will fearless the slopes of Mount Panorama on Sunday as Australia’s most famous motor race – the Bathurst 1000 – takes over the famous mountain.
The 2013 victor Mark Winterbottom (car no.5), 34, teams up with 2010 runner-up Steve Owen.
“His Falcon ricocheted across the track before mounting the barrier and taking out a marshals” post.
Fast forward 12 months, and even Whincup can’t find fault from the day after limping to fifth.
“But unfortunately I was the first who caught the oil and found the wall. It’s a bit disappointing, we were off to a good start”, said Gracie.
“To come so close to doing that, it was a great effort”.
Officials said on Sunday that Flack was still in Liverpool hospital but “his condition has improved significantly”.
‘There was bloody fluid on the road and I’m in the wall.
Yet Mostert has not had much qualifying luck for the team on the mountain.
It was another Bathurst 1000 disaster for Mostert, who crashed in his debut at the event in 2013, and did not take part in last year’s qualifying session following a penalty for passing under red flags.
Mostert re-signed with Prodrive Racing in August until the end of 2019.
“One-two in the championship, one-two at Sandown, they’ll be very hard to beat”.
Gracie and de Silvestro were quick to return fire at the former racing champion, and vowed to contend for a podium finish over the weekend. He spun before rolling six times at a speed of up to 230kph.
It’s my mistake. Normally I get a “Safety auto, pit this lap” call (over the radio) but I didn’t get the “Safety Car”, I just got “pit this lap”.
Mostert is trying to stay level-headed in his preparation.
“It cool to finish it for sure”, she said.
“You come here every year to do your best and the four times I’ve been up here I’ve driven with a few great guys and been involved with a few cool teams”.
The Ford driver expressed his remorse over the offensive comments on Thursday night.
Mostert backed the pair to do well.
“I’m going out to win it”, he declared.

The driver is seated further to the centre, rather than to to the left side like in a normal vehicle.
