Defensive back Justin Gilbert will start for Pierre Desir at Cleveland Browns
The biggest news of the night so far for the Browns is the announcement that the much maligned Justin Gilbert will get the start at cornerback for Monday night’s primetime matchup versus the Baltimore Ravens.

The troubled Browns quarterback, who was demoted last Tuesday after a video surfaced of him partying with alcohol, will serve as the team’s third-string signal caller behind starter Josh McCown and Austin Davis in a surprising move by Cleveland.
Baltimore now turns to 34-year-old Matt Schaub, who hasn’t started a game in two years, as it tries to salvage this nightmare season.
McCown is playing for first time since November 1, a loss to Arizona.
Cleveland (2-8) put a temporary halt to the Johnny Manziel experiment just as the sophomore quarterback was showing consistent promise. James Hurst is slated to start at tackle for Monroe and John Urschel should start at guard in place of Osemele. McCown has thrown 11 touchdowns and just four interceptions in the seven games he played before he was sidelined with a rib injury. The Ravens will be starting a new quarterback for completely different reasons after Joe Flacco tore his ACL and MCL in last week’s win over the Rams.

With Joe Haden out and Pierre Desir having struggled in the Browns’ last game, the Browns made Desir inactive Monday and are listing Gilbert as a starter opposite Tramon Williams. They all have concussions.
