Defiant Carson: Questions about West Point story are unfair
They have been talking to everybody I’ve ever known, everyone I’ve ever seen. “‘There’s got to be a scandal”. By telling – and examining – his remarkable personal story, which sits at the center of his I-am-not-a-politician appeal. Politico also looked into that and had found that Westmoreland’s schedule, actually, didn’t match up with being in Detroit in May, but rather in February, where he probably met with Carson at that time.

As a result of this meeting and support from his commanders, Carson said in his book, “Later I was offered a full scholarship to West Point”.
“They were saying you would be a tremendous addition to the military and we can get you into West Point with a full scholarship and I simply said I want to be a doctor”. “What’s going on with me – I have not seen that with anyone else”, Carson said.
He added: “As overjoyed as I felt to be offered such a scholarship, I wasn’t really tempted”. Hours later, Politico broke the story of Carson’s embellishment on West Point.
In a press conference outside of Miami Friday night, Carson criticized the press scrutiny of not only the West Point account but also other statements he’s made about being violent as a young man until he learned to control himself. Instead, the academy provides tuition, room and board and expenses in exchange for five years of service in the Army. “It was specifically made”. A joint NBC/Wall Street Journal poll released just days before the Politico report gave Carson a 6-point lead over Donald Trump nationally. “What is false about it?”
“Show me somebody, even from your business, the media, who is 100 percent accurate in everything that they say that happened 40 or 50 years ago”, Carson said. “Can someone tell me why please?”
Earlier this week, Carson wrote on Facebook that “every signer of the Declaration of Independence had no elected office experience”.
Mr. Tump tweeted that the reports exposed “one of many lies” by Mr. Carson and called it the “beginning of the end” of the Carson campaign.
Carson’s message, boiled down to its simplest terms, is this: I am being unfairly targeted by a liberal media uncomfortable with the idea of a non-politician with deep religious conviction as the frontrunner for a major party’s presidential nomination.

“Mr. Carson writes of a Yale psychology professor who told Mr. Carson, then a junior, and the other students in the class-identified by Mr. Carson as Perceptions 301-that their final exam papers had “inadvertently burned”, requiring all 150 students to retake it. The new exam, Mr. Carson recalled in the book, was much tougher”. When you say though hitting your head over the head with a hammer when you talk about hitting your friend in the face with a lock – padlock. Carson said Thursday that those names weren’t real, and that the person he once tried to stab was an unidentified “close relative”.
