Defiant Van Gaal won’t quit United
Despite the fact that Manchester United have failed to register a win in December, they were impressive during their draw with Chelsea at Old Trafford today.

United sit sixth in the Premier League table halfway through the season, nine points behind leaders Arsenal.
The game was stirred up as Van Gaal walked away from his press conference ahead of the trip to Stoke City where the Reds had lost 2-0.
Jenas, who played for Newcastle United, Queens Park Rangers and Tottenham Hotspur during his playing career, believes United’s players are actually worse under Van Gaal than his predecessor, Moyes.
“I have said that when the players are fighting for me, I stay, because that is the most important thing and you have seen that (they are)”, the United manager said.
United have now scored just 10 goals in their last 14 games in all competitions.
“For us it was a good game as well because Chelsea are a very good team”.
Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal says he will not resign despite continuing a winless run against champions Chelsea.
“And then automatically when everyone is on board, hopefully we can use the quality of the players as well”. “We can’t hide from it, we’re not going to hide from it. That is how it is and we all need to be better”.
“When the players can give such a performance with this pressure then there is no reason for me to resign”. We’d be letting ourselves down if we didn’t go out on the pitch and play football and give our all. Sometimes I do it myself, but I am the one who wants to speak first with the board of Manchester United and with my members of staff or with my players and not with you. I think we are unlucky in spirit.
“But, of course, I know that there are circumstances that the board has to decide to sack the manager and I am looking always from my point of view and that can be not the right view and in this insane football world that can happen every day, also with me”.

Chelsea also had chances to score, with David De Gea turning John Terry’s header over the bar, before making an impressive double save from Pedro and Cesar Azpilicueta early in the second half. “But I would have been more anxious (if) there was a lack of confidence or a lack of ambition or lethargy. I think the referee has seen it and knows there is no intention of hurting him but he’s given me a yellow card I probably deserved”.
