He allowed two runs in 6 1⁄3 innings, David Wright had a two-run double and Neil Walker hit his 100th career home run as the Mets beat the Braves, 8-2.

“I was a little nervous, but excited to be back”, deGrom said.

“I feel like that’s my fourth-best pitch”, he said.

He was also quoted as saying, “It was tough to leave, knowing Stacey was going to have to be in there and having to keep going up there with him”, deGrom said. He missed one start because of a lat strain and another after his newborn son, Jaxson, had health issues. “I don’t know if he could throw a full game like that”, he said.

The Tigers will try to get back on track when Shane Greene starts in Cleveland against Carlos Carrasco. He allowed eights hits-the Mets allowed 12 in total-but did a good job of scattering them and never truly found himself in major trouble.

“With situational hitting, it was good”.

“He’s one of those guys that I can’t wait to see him pitch four days from now”.

He still gave up seven hits overall but did strike out five in five innings which was a little more encouraging especially since Harvey has not done well in the strikeout department. “After the first inning, I thought he settled in an pitched well”.

“Granderson has the ability to leave the ball park and put a number up”, Atlanta manager Fredi Gonzalez said. “That was a hot lineup he was facing”. The Atlanta Braves are at the bottom of the NL East with a 4-13 record. Now in his eighth season, the White Sox newcomer has given up just one run and six hits in 18 1/3 innings over three outings.

The first hit Nick Markakis on the right hand with one out and the Mets leading 2-0.

The Mets rallied with two runs in the sixth to give deGrom a 3-1 lead. Blair, the fourth-ranked prospect in our composite rankings, dominated at Triple-A Gwinnett to the tune of a 1.42 ERA and 22 strikeouts in 19 innings, but this was a different challenge altogether. “I seem to be able to only hit lefties right now”.

Kevin C. Cox/Getty Images Michael Conforto had two RBIs as the Mets’ No. 3 hitter. Lucas Duda followed with a sacrifice fly against Alexi Ogando that plated Asdrubal Cabrera and opened a 3-1 lead. Daniel Castro hit an infield single, but deGrom induced a ground out by Freddie Freeman to end the inning.
