Deila wary of Berget threat for Malmo

The Scottish champions, who are preparing to host Swedish side Malmo in the first leg of their crucial Champions League play-off round at Celtic Park on Wednesday, have conceded late goals in their past two matches. He is among the 20 so we will see. Looking at the market though something that stands out for me is the corners market, I think the way Celtic play they will create chances down the flanks and I am going to take the overs on the corner market.

“We proved we can break at pace and we have players who can hurt teams, like myself, Stefan Johansen, Gary Mackay-Steven, Stuart Armstrong, but it’s all about taking your chances”.

Malmo also inflicted a 2-1 defeat on Swedish league leaders IFK Gothenburg 10 days ago, so Celtic can expect a tough tie. “We take each game as it comes and we wanted to get a positive result after last Wednesday night”.

Berget played eight matches for Celtic, scoring twice, both in his home debut against Dundee United, and said he would dearly love to repeat the feat when he returns to his old stomping ground tonight. All the players and the fans want Champions League football.

“You never know if I will get the nod”, Griffiths added.

“Were they surprised? Not really, no. They said they would support me in my footballing career because it wasn’t their decision. Maybe it can give me some strength but it’s just to look the part”. Malmo put Austrian giants Red Bull Salzburg out of the Champions League at the third qualifying round to book their meeting with Celtic in the playoff round. The team is in good shape with a lot of confidence. “I’m looking forward to the game and hopefully we will make the best of it. I enjoyed the first bit of my time at Celtic”.

“After we went out of the Champions League last year we became a better team”.

Berget spent time at Celtic as they were eliminated from the competition by Maribor last season after being given an initial reprieve by Legia Warsaw, and the 24-year-old has stated that he does not want to be on the receiving end of disappointment again.

“The players read Malmo’s comments in the media themselves but, again, it’s about us. That’s when they have to show they are better”, the Hoops boss said. We’ll fight to show Hareide is wrong.
