Del Rio: Raiders ‘confident’ Murray will bounce back
Once it started, he appeared to be in good form. And in the end, he made up for a big interception by orchestrating a drive that led to Robbie Gould’s last-second field goal. They are fixable mistakes, but those mistakes will sting both in the locker room and throughout the Raider Nation as everyone tries to get over a potential win that slipped through the Raiders hands yesterday afternoon.

While Marquette King got in his work punting, the Raiders defense did show a few life when Khalil Mack tipped Cutler’s pass and Justin Tuck sacked the Bears QB on the following play to wrap up the first quarter. And if you knew anything about Cutler’s career, you realized that he didn’t have a clutch bone in his body. “I mean, he fought an injury”. They were picked apart by Cutler, coming back from a hamstring injury to get Chicago to convert at a 10-of-17 clip on third down. Back to what I said earlier, my hat’s off to him. After all the jabs critics have taken at the polarizing Cutler over the years, his tight end, who racked up 11 catches for 83 yards and a touchdown on Sunday, compared him to another person in history who had been doubted.
But Cutler led Chicago (1-3) from its 20 to the Oakland 32 before Gould nailed the victor in the closing seconds.
Head coach John Fox praised Cutler’s toughness after the game and was happy to get the first win of the season for the passionate fan base of Chicago.
With a fresh set of downs, the Bears continued their march down the field.
That set up another third-and-2 from the Chicago 22 with just under three minutes remaining and Oakland trailing 19-17.
“Two real, problem turnovers for us really eliminated first-down plays”, Del Rio said.
As soon as Jay Cutler threw an interception, it looked like the Bears were about to follow the familiar script. The Hawks brought the Cup to Soldier Field for Sunday’s game, and that could be the closest the Bears get to a championship this season. “They did call my number and I was ready to go out there”.
Then, on the opening possession, starting center Will Montgomery had to leave the game with what turned out to be a broken fibula. Slaw (Matt Slauson) went over to center, a lot of moving parts out there.
Porter did have safety help, but he also didn’t give Cooper much space, recording one pass breakup.
Carr said he appreciated that Murray was taking responsibility for the turnovers but that the third-year running back can’t blame himself for this loss. “I was at the root of two of those”.
“Everyone talks about how you need confidence”, Fox said. “Nothing that would alarm you”. A series of laterals on the ensuing kickoff wasn’t enough to find the end zone and Oakland was flagged for an illegal forward pass anyway.
New York Giants 24, (at) Buffalo 10: Rashad Jennings broke three tackles to score on a 51-yard touchdown catch midway through the fourth quarter for the Giants.

In the first two games, Cincinnati’s Tyler Eifert had 104 yards and two TDs. In the receiving end, Amari Cooper had 134 yards in eight receptions while Seth Roberts added 56 yards and one touchdown in three catches.
