Delays to flights after technical problem at Scottish air traffic control centre
A technical concern on Monday triggered delays to flights via all of Scotland’s major airports, a media report stated.

Edinburgh Airport reported that an “ongoing issue at the Scottish Airspace control centre” was causing delays to all flights.
Air traffic controllers NATS said there had been interference with a few radio frequencies used to talk to aircraft overnight, which was affecting parts of Scottish airspace.
“Some impact is expected on flights this morning, but the situation is improving”.
NATS advised passengers to check the status of flights from early this morning, and has posted reasonably regular Twitter updates about the system’s status.
Meanwhile, several recent departures have been delayed by more than an hour.
“The cause has been identified and is now being resolved”.
The situation is continuing to improve and delays are reducing, however we recognise there are now knock on delays as a result of airspace capacity restrictions in place earlier in the day.
“We apologise sincerely for any inconvenience”.
The arrivals board at Edinburgh Airport shows a few morning flights from London Heathrow, Bristol and Gatwick are running up to 90 minutes behind schedule.
“I’m sure air traffic control wouldn’t allow flights if anything was unsafe so I don’t think passengers should be anxious unduly”.

Scottish Transport Minister Derek Mackay told BBC Radio Scotland he believes the technical issue has been “rectified and addressed”.
