Delhi ACB chief releases new helplines, government threatens action
Far from considering the proposals made by Meena, the Delhi government has challenged the legality of Centre’s order to appoint Meena as the ACB chief. (So we) have decided to issue new helpline numbers which will be received by our office.

According tom reports, ACB has also released two new helpline numbers to battle corruption. Meena confirmed the development saying that for the past one month no calls were being received on Anti Corruption helpline no 1031 issued by Delhi government. “Meena’s statement on helpline is sheer case of impersonation and the Delhi government will take action for the same against him”.
The AAP government said Additional Commissioner Surender Singh Yadav was the actual Chief of ACB and Mr. Meena was “just assigned to look after the work of training and monitoring of under-trial cases at the ACB”. Mr. “Any decision regarding the ACB is to be taken by Yadav only”, government spokesperson Arunoday Prakash said.
“The Delhi government’s Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) was working with full vigour but as it started getting success a new chief was appointed illegally”, he said.
“In addition, any information related to corruption can be shared on my office landline number on working days”, Meena said.
“If the complaints are not transferred then the helpline should be closed”.
Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Centre had conspired to derail the ACB after talk of the branch possibly taking action against an Union minister.
“Money spent on inauguration and publicity of 1031 is waste and public have been misguided and cheated by the government”, Meena said.
ACB sources on Thursday claimed that more than 2 lakh calls have gone unheard as these weren’t transferred to ACB. So I request such people to call on the new helpline number.
People making calls to register complaints, thinking the ACB would be alerted, are being “misguided”, he said. “Why are they determined to derail the ACB”, Sisodia said.

This came soon after Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal shot a letter to the Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung alleging that he has made the DCW “completely dysfunctional” at the behest of the Prime Minister. They should either shut down or hand over the helpline to us if they are finding it hard to run.
