According to the Petitioner, for that incident of 15.02.2016 in the Patiala house courts raise serious threat to the life of the accused.

Home Minister Rajnath Singh, who also attended the event, said, “An inquiry is going on over the incident”.

Jaiprakash has also sought directions for that “proper and appropriate action” was taken against any person who was involved in obstructing the proceedings against Kanhaiya Kumar before the court in any manner.

Journalists gathered at the Press Club of India on Tuesday morning and made a decision to march to the Supreme Court.

Some JNU students said that lawyers shouting “Long Live India, Down with JNU” physically forced them out of the court premises.

Bassi said police have no problems with JNU authorities as they are cooperating with the probe.

The central government has charged Kanhaiya Kumar with sedition after some unknown persons were videographed raising slogans such as Pakistan Zindabad, Afzal Guru zindabad and so on at an event organized under, or with the help of, left-leaning student bodies on the campus. The journalists in their memorandum demanded that the police watched the whole attack silently.

The minister said Delhi Police is a “pioneer in adopting innovative techniques of policing”. Several first hand accounts have appeared today in the media about how the assault happened.

He also said allegations were levelled by both sides after the incident. “Such observations will encourage only those elements who already believe that they are above the law of the land”.

Under fire for the failure of the police to protect reporters and students from assault at the Patiala House court on Monday, Delhi Police Commissioner B.S. Bassi has described the attack, parts of which have been caught on camera, as a “minor scuffle”. When asked why they were being told to leave the courtroom, the so-called “lawyers” became violent.
