Batting for vehicle pooling, Kejriwal called it the most practical solution.

Talking about fines for defaulters, Kejriwal said, “Rs 2000 fine will be imposed on people who will violate the rules”. “This scheme is for you, for your children”. Almost 10 lakh private cars are expected to stay off Delhi roads, on a daily basis, once the odd-even formula is enforced.

Earlier this month, Kejriwal had introduced that he, his ministers and all authorities officers will comply with odd-even scheme.

The Delhi High Court on Wednesday asked the government to take into consideration the concerns of physically challenged commuters while formulating the odd-even scheme.

The government plans to run 6,000 more buses to accommodate the potential spurt in passengers who can’t drive their cars on a day.

The AAP chief claimed that while the odd-even formula had been in the works for a while, no Delhi CM before him had the “guts” to put it in practice.
