Delhi restaurant denies street kids service, Sisodia orders probe
The Delhi government on Sunday ordered an inquiry into the matter saying that “if the allegations were found to be true, the licence of the restaurant would be cancelled”. Sisodia has also ordered the district magistrate of New Delhi to conduct an inquiry into the incident and submit a report within 24 hours.

“If allegations are found true, Delhi government will cancel licence of the restaurant”, he said.
Radhika, one of the kids, narrating yesterday’s incident said that they were pushed out of the Shiv Sagar restaurant.
Sonali Shetty, a writer in India, made a decision to take a group of eight street children to the Shiv Sagar restaurant yesterday to celebrate her husband’s birthday. In Delhi to celebrate her husband’s birthday, Shetty, who describes herself as a writer, and her family made a decision to celebrate the occasion by treating street children at a restaurant. The owner discriminated with kids and refused service citing that kids aren’t well dressed and are look dirty. Soon, a heated argument broke out between Shetty and the manager, following which she called police.
Sonali Shetty, a resident of Dehradun, had flown to Delhi, with her nine-year-old son to celebrate her husband’s birthday. She had called the police when she was protesting outside the restaurant.
Vihur Kanodia, the owner of Shiv Sagar restaurant in Connaught Place, said, “We do not discriminate against anybody. So we told her that we will get the food packed and she could take them out”.
Shiv Sagar denied entry to street children.
When asked if she would meet Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, she said, “I will meet Manish Sisodia if I am given the conveyance fee, as I would like to use money on feeding the children and not on travelling”.
Terming the whole incident as a “failure” of society, Sonali, who is the wife of an Armyman, said that she protested outside the eatery for over 10 hours but nothing happened. The staff said they were busy with the case.

The spokesperson of Shiv Sagar, Roma Malhotra, claimed Shetty insisted that the restaurant provide free food to the children. “The DM asked the waiters and other staff of the restaurant about Saturday’s incident and noted it down”, said a restaurant staff member.
