Chris Sutphen, the senior marketing manager at Alienware, even confirmed that following the release of Nvidia’s new GPUs, the new lineup of Alienware gaming laptops rolled out.

Hopefully, Alienware will also offer an optional screen with AMD FreeSync support which could be a ideal combination for the RX 470 and it will definitely be interesting to see how the RX 470 compares to GTX 1060 and GTX 1070 in those Alienware notebooks. In the case of the Alienware 15, that means up to a GeForce GTX 1070.

Lighting on the top of the lid has been moved to the notebook’s sides.

First and foremost, it’s worth mentioning that Alienware has substantially improved the laptops in terms of portability, as they’re both lighter and thinner thanks to this new generation. As well as being noticeably thinner than the flagship it replaces, it also comes with some very clever features, such as an eye-tracking camera and an app called Overwolf that records where users are looking when they’re gaming and providing coaching if they’re missing details in complex gaming situations. The Alienware 13 will launch in November. The company mentioned the new keyboard’s additional 2.2mm of travel, but the keyboard I had time with felt almost identical to its much-loved predecessor.

Available in only 17-inch models as part of its new “wake on gaze” feature, the laptops have been fitted with an impressive eye-tracking technology made by Tobii – a Swedish tech company that specialises in sensor technology that tracks eye movements. It allows you to control certain games, as well as the backlights beneath the keyboard, with just a glance.

All three versions are created to be “VR ready” – for both the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive.

Hook up your favorite displays: The graphics amplifier allows you to enjoy the performance of the desktop graphics card on your Alienware 13, 15 and 17 R2 & R3 notebooks LCD or on any external display connected to the amplifier. While Alienware isn’t forgetting about its desktop family, the company is putting a lot of thought and effort into its notebooks. However, both the 17 and 15-inch models can be configured with quad-core Core i7 chips, up to 32GB of RAM and 1TB of internal storage plus two battery choices – 68 Watt-Hour or 99 Watt-hour for serious play when away from a power outlet.

Gamers around the world wait eagerly for Alienware laptops for a reason.
