Dell XPS 12 4K tablet hybrid leaks
As the images above show, the Dell XPS 12’s core tablet element will slot into a solid keyboard dock for a more traditional laptop experience than that provided by the somewhat precariously propped Microsoft Surface family.

The 1080p screen option is in addition to the previously rumored 4K display that will benefit from a 3,840 x 2,160 pixel resolution, thus giving it a significant leg-up in the display department compared to Apple’s iPad Pro and the Surface Pro 3. Microsoft will unveil the Surface Pro 4 at its Windows devices launch event on October 6 and the new tablet will begin shipping in the United States next month. There’s a slick, 1.3 mm-thin keyboard that should cater to the general user seeking the versatility of a hybrid solution. The screen is made by Sharp and therefore flaunts its IGZO display tech. Deeper inside, you get to the CPU, which is noted to be an Intel Core M processor of the Skylake generation. However, fresh Dell XPS 12 4K details have now leaked that divulges more specs, and from what we can make out, this looks to us to be aimed at the Surface Pro 4 once released.
Buyers will be able to specify 16GB of RAM (instead of the 8GB maximum of the current XPS 13), and options on the storage have also been extended from 256GB to offer 512GB or 1TB SSDs as well.
According to a report from Digital Trends, the upgraded features of Dell’s new device include a 4K, thin-bezel Infinity Display and a keyboard dock as opposed to its predecessor’s swivel frame design. It weighs 790g, and looking at the pictures and specs, the XPS 12 seems a tempting prospect indeed.

While the XPS 12 hasn’t been remodelled since its premiere, it turns out Dell was just biding its time. There’s also a higher-performing edition that features a full set of backlit keys, a glass trackpad, and a few extra ports including a USB Type-C, two USB 3.0 and an HDMI out.
