Today is Pi Day, and Microsoft is celebrating the mathematical constant with some impressive deals on Dell laptops.
The spring sale discounts will stick around until stocks last, but once again, those Pi Day discounts are available today only, so you’ll need to act fast to catch them.
Linux users who’ve been looking for some new, quality hardware to run their preferred operating system on are in luck, as Dell has just released a handful of new laptop options, starting with the Intel Skylake-featuring XPS 13.
Compared to its normal price tag of $999, this is one of the most attractive deals now on the market. The next XPS 13 variant, priced at $1,949, comes shipped with 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SDD. You can finally get a Linux-based XPS 13 with 16GB of RAM, however, and there are promises of a far more frugal Core i5 system with 8GB of RAM and a non-touch display. Additionally, each of the three notebooks has a 13-inch touchscreen display with resolution of up to 3,200 x 1,800. The XPS 13 should last for up to 11 hours on a single charge and it’s highly portable.
The new XPS 13 developer edition lineup is only available in the USA for now, but Dell said that Canadian and European models are in the works and should be available soon. “Compared to the Apple MacBook Air 13, the XPS 13 is 23% smaller with the same size screen”.
The Ubuntu-based Dell XPS 13 Developer Edition will be available in three variants based on different RAM and inbuilt storage configurations.
