You posted an apology video Tuesday saying this isn’t Delta and the quality of service that passengers expect.

The outage affected check-in systems, airport screens and the airline website and smartphone apps.

Georgia Power released a statement to ABC News on Monday afternoon, saying it believed Delta experienced a failure overnight in a piece of equipment called a “switchgear”.

“This is our responsibility”, Mr. Bastian said.

“I don’t think it’s our responsibility to go and have to argue a point when we are not the ones responsible for making the changes”, said Dominique Jasper, another traveler. The bulk of delays and cancellations are coming as a result of flight crews displaced or running up against their maximum allowed duty period following the outage, said Delta”.

The airline said that it has canceled 427 flights because of the outage. Some critical systems did not automatically switch to backup power as planned, West said, after the main power supply switched off. The reason we lost it was that we had a power control module that failed. “We’re not here pointing fingers at Georgia Power”.

Senior Vice President of Operations and Customer Center Dave Holtz offered several apologies to passengers throughout the day on Tuesday. A source with contacts at Delta told The Register that the problem originated with a faulty UPS at the company’s Atlanta data centre.

Bastian acknowledged that “our infrastructure is dated, no question”, with “legacy mainframes”.

“We shouldn’t talk about the cost of making your system reliable because you live on that system”, Abdelghany said. “It’s not an area that we’ve been dismissive of”.

Most importantly, consumers should read the fine print, and make certain they get what they are entitled to.

Delta on Wednesday said some flights were still being delayed or canceled due to crews stuck in the wrong place or exceeding federal caps on on-duty hours. Others were put up in hotels by Delta, including 2,300 in Atlanta alone Tuesday night. That’s on top of 850 flights canceled on Tuesday and 1,000 canceled flights Monday. That’s on top of about 1,000 flights it canceled on Monday, stranding passengers at airports around the globe.
