Delta canceled another 250 flights Tuesday morning
Delta canceled about 300 flights around the world this morning as it continued what it called a “reset” of its system of 6,000 flights a day.

On Monday in Richmond, Virginia, Delta gate agents were writing out boarding passes by hand.
The computer system is back up and departures have resumed, the carrier said, but the aftereffects of the chaos are still being felt.
The airline says customers are being provided with hotel rooms and other accommodations for overnight stays where available.
“We are still operating in recovery mode”, said Dave Holtz, the airline’s senior vice president of operations.
Delta had worked to get its schedule back on track Monday, but the disruption left numerous airline’s crews and airplanes out of place.
Paul International Airport this morning, part of its broader effort to get planes and crews back in place after Monday’s power outage and computer system shutdown. “Delta’s investigation into the causes is ongoing”, the company said. It also said passengers whose flights are canceled or delayed more than three hours will get $200 travel vouchers for future flights.
The company said it’s continuing to investigate what exactly went wrong. No other customers lost power, he said. It was narrowly beaten only by American Airlines and Southwest Airlines (LUV), with all of them flying mostly within the United States. Even brief outages can snarl traffic and cause long delays.
Some passengers said they were shocked that computer glitches could cause such turmoil.
Ryan Shannon, whose flight from Lexington, Kentucky, on Monday was delayed, said passengers boarded, were told to exit, waited about 90 minutes, then got back on the plane and flew to NY without further incident. There is always a delay, or weather, or something. Delta is waiving certain change fees for customers who were scheduled to travel Monday or Tuesday and want to change their travel plans to later in the week.
