Delta however says cancellations and delays continue.
Travellers are advised to check their flight status before going to the airport.
Many passengers, like Bryan Kopsick, 20, from Richmond, were shocked that computer glitches could cause such turmoil.
But Mother Claudia Joseph said she, her husband and their six children were still in good spirits.
They said customers should expect lag time in display on accurate flight status on delta.com, their phone app, and with Delta representatives on the phone or at the airport.
Between 6 a.m. and 8:30 a.m., about 200 Delta passengers at the Indianapolis airport were affected by the delays and waiting for their flights to depart, said airport spokeswoman Stephanie McFarland. Southwest Airlines was forced to cancel more than 2,000 flights across the USA last month after technology problems prevented many travellers from checking in or boarding flights.

The cause of the outage has not yet been determined. “Our systems are down everywhere”, it told customers on Twitter.
