Delta Offers Vouchers For Flight Delays, Cancellations
Delta’s challenge on Tuesday will be to find enough seats on planes during the busy summer vacation season to accommodate the tens of thousands of passengers whose flights were scrubbed.

Flights resumed but on a limited basis, and Delta warned the ripple effect of the computer breakdown would drag on.
If your flight was canceled by Delta or delayed more than three hours, and you decide not to reschedule, you can ask the airline for your money back.
Trebor Banstetter, Delta spokesman, told the Associated Press that after the power cut, key systems and network equipment did not switch to backups. The utility provider also said it was working with the carrier to help make repairs.
Some customers were provided with hotel rooms and other accommodations if a cancellation required an overnight stay.
He did not say when Delta, the No. 2 USA airline by passenger traffic, expected to return to normal operations following the power outage in Atlanta, where Delta is headquartered. Current Delta customers should reportedly check the status of their flights, as more delays and cancellations are imminent.
Industry experts have begun linking airline computer system failures to corporate mergers that require integrating older computer systems from rival companies into a single, expanded system operated by the new corporation.
The events underscore how it can take days for airlines to reboot operations after a brief outage or storm.
“As I’m sure you can appreciate, it’s a all hands on deck effort”, American CEO Ed Bastian said on the airline’s website. Mann said monitors typically display cached data until the computer system updates with new information. Travelers on some routes can also make a one-time change to the ticket without paying Delta’s usual change fee of $200 for domestic flights and up to $500 for worldwide flights. Delta is waiving certain change fees for customers who were scheduled to travel Monday or Tuesday and want to change their travel plans to later in the week.
As of 7:20 a.m. Tuesday, 18 Delta flights arriving or departing MSP Airport Tuesday have been canceled and eight have been delayed, according to FlightAware.
Delta shares were down less than 1 percent in afternoon trading. The airline added that additional delays and cancellations are expected.
Thousands of air passengers around the world have been left stranded after a power cut forced the USA airline Delta to suspend flights.
