Demaryius struggles with Brock Osweiler at QB

“I’m trying to get healthy before I try to get back”, Manning told reporters Wednesday in his first comments in more than two weeks, according to the team website.

Coach Gary Kubiak reiterated his earlier point of view that Manning is the team’s starting quarterback whenever he’s ready to get back on the field.

Manning, who is recovering from a plantar fascia tear in his left foot, was taken out of a walking cast Tuesday. Then to see him get carted off the field was even more frustrating because having been through his own injury, Brady likely knows that scenario would have done more than just end the tight end’s season. The decision to start Brock Osweiler for the duration of the season would affect the course of the Broncos’ future.

In two games this season, Osweiler has gone 57-for-93, throwing for 666 yards with four touchdowns and two interceptions.

The timetable for Manning’s return is still largely uncertain but things appear to be moving quickly, which could lead to him returning in time for the playoffs. Go back to Manning, even though it’s pretty clear Osweiler should be the starter?

Brock Osweiler has played well in Manning’s place, but Manning said he hasn’t given any thought as to whether he would get his starting job back upon his return.

It was the beatings that sent Peyton Manning to the sideline with a foot injury and it’s the clobbering that Brock Osweiler is taking that have the Broncos concerned about him, too.

Arizona coach Bruce Arians said Monday that Johnson was hurt when he took a helmet to the knee in Sunday’s 19-13 victory at San Francisco.

Backup tight end Scott Chandler had five catches for 58 yards and a touchdown for the Patriots against Denver, by far the best performance since he joined the Patriots this season.

Asked for a timetable for getting Ponder up to speed, Kubiak said, “I don’t really have one”. Now, he has sustained another injury during the final quarter of the game against the Denver Broncos on Sunday. We knew we were in a tough ball game and needed to play well in the second half. That was just one of those situations last week where we didn’t play as well as we would’ve liked to for 60 minutes. Brady said he doesn’t think a player like Stewart has any choice but to go low when trying to make a tackle.

“This is when “they” and “sources” seem to show their heads a little bit”, Manning said via Jeff Legwold of ESPN.com, 10 days after the report first surfaced.
